Heidi's Barbeque Sauce

Featured in the October 2016 edition of 'In The Loop Magazine

Ingredients For BBQ Sauce:

  • 1 cup Ketchup
  • 1/3 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/3 cup Molasses
  • 4 tablespoons distilled Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon prepared Horseradish 
  • Salt/Pepper, to taste

Directions:

  • In a medium saucepan combine all ingredients
  • Cook uncovered bringing to a boil
  • Reduce heat to simmer, cover with lid and cook 35-45 minutes

Tips:  Use BBQ sauce on your favorite meat. I love making shredded Bbq pork sandwiches.

Always sear your pork before slow cooking, searing is worth the extra time. The caramelization makes the meat explode with intense flavor. I like using my Le Creuset Dutch oven for both searing and slow cooking. Roast the meat in oven, covered approximately 6-8 hours, or until meat shreds easily with a fork. Cooking time may vary depending size of the pork roast. Add bbq sauce to your shredded meat and serve on your favorite bread or rolls.
